Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Trabo collects, why, who we share it with, and your rights. We only collect what we need to run the service, and we never sell your data.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Eniko Beatrice Varga, [your postal address], is the data controller for Trabo. For anything about your data, email support@trabo.app.
2. What we collect
| Information | Why we use it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address and password (stored only in scrambled, "hashed" form) | To create your account, log you in, and send account emails such as confirmations and password resets | Contract |
| Resumes you upload, and the text we read from them | To create tailored resumes for the jobs you choose | Contract |
| Jobs you save: titles, companies, descriptions, links, salary, interview dates and notes | To show your application tracker and tailor resumes to those jobs | Contract |
| Tailored resumes we generate and their keyword reports | So you can download and regenerate them | Contract |
| Job searches: keywords, location and country | To show job listings. Searches aren't linked to your account in our records | Contract |
| Subscription details: your Stripe customer number, plan status, and how many resumes you've generated | To provide the plan you're on and apply free-plan limits | Contract |
| Technical data: IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in our server logs | To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems | Legitimate interests |
| Your email address, for the welcome email | To help you get started and tell you about the welcome offer when you join | Legitimate interests |
We don't need sensitive information such as your health, religion, ethnicity or national insurance number. Please leave it out of the resumes you upload.
3. Payment information
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. Stripe tells us whether a payment succeeded and gives us a customer number. Stripe's own use of your information is covered by its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
4. Who we share data with
We use the following service providers to run Trabo. They may only use your data to provide their service to us:
- Render hosts the website and stores your account data and files (servers in the United States).
- OpenAI processes the text of your resume and job descriptions to read job pages and write tailored resumes (United States). Under OpenAI's terms for business customers, this data isn't used to train its models and is kept for no more than 30 days for safety monitoring.
- Resend sends our emails (United States).
- Stripe processes payments.
- Adzuna provides job search results. It receives your search terms, not your account details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers store or process data in the United States. When data leaves the UK, we rely on the protections UK data protection law allows, such as the UK-US data bridge or the UK's approved contract terms (the International Data Transfer Addendum).
6. How long we keep your data
- Account information, resumes and saved jobs: until you delete them or ask us to close your account.
- When you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as payment and tax records, which we keep for 6 years.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, and deleted automatically.
7. Cookies
Trabo uses a single cookie, which keeps you logged in. It's strictly necessary for the site to work, so we don't ask for consent. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you across other websites.
8. Security
Connections to Trabo are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed with bcrypt, and login links in emails expire. No system is completely secure, but if a breach affects your data and puts you at risk, we'll tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office as the law requires.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal data;
- correct data that's wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send your data to you or another service in a machine-readable format.
Email support@trabo.app to make a request. We'll respond within one month, and there's normally no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Children
Trabo isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data in an important way, we'll email you before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
